Fall Quilt Market 2010

I have yet to attend the Fall Market, but I was sent a photo of the display for “Gems of the Sea”. I always love to see what wonderful and fun items people make out of the fabric.

The quilt is called “Deep Sea Delights” by Heidi Pridemore. The shirt and beach ball were made by Terry Caselton. The shirt was made from a pattern by Simplicity-#3852 & the shorts were from a pattern by Kwik Sew #3079. The adorable beach ball was her own design. You can click on image for a larger view.

Inspiration for Gems of the Sea

This is a watercolor, pastel and fabric painting I created about a year ago that became the inspiration for my new fabric collection with P & B Textiles called “Gems of the Sea”. This was a super fun collection to create because for one I just love sea turtles! Not to mention all the other wonderful undersea life like tiny delicate sea horses and dazzling fish.

10×10 Benefit Art Exhibit

For the third year in a row now I have been happy to enter some pieces into the Brunswick Benefit Art Exhibit. Partial sales of the work funds Arts Are Elementary a non-profit bringing resident artists into the Brunswick elementary schools, reaching all students in grades one through 5th.

These pieces are mixed media collages ,painted on ply-wood with added snippets of fabric, mostly from the my fabric collections.

Welcome to My Long awaited Blog!

I have been working on a WordPress.org website/blog for awhile. I think I’ve finally got the hang of it , but due to some tech difficulties I had to start from scratch. So I’m going to blog for awhile here on WordPress.com. My first post will just be a repost of the 10×10 Benefit Exhibition. But more to come on paint, pattern and ponderings.
